Cameron Poe is a highly decorated military officer who is sent to prison because of killing a man while defending his wife. Seven years later, he is granted a parole. He is put on a plane with many other convicts. Everything looks smooth until one of the convicts, Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom breaks out of his restraints and takes control of the plane. The D.E.A quickly learns of the event and plans on shooting the plane down, but U.S. Marshall Vince Larkin sees Poe as an ally and tries to work with him before his superiors shoot down the plane.

I&#39;m not going to go on and on for about 7 pages on how bad or good this film is like some of the other &quot;reviewers&quot;!<br/><br/>Jerry Bruckheimer is brilliant, that is beyond doubt!<br/><br/>Con Air brings together an all star cast to a great story line with spectacular special FXs. This is a highly amusing, high octane action adventure that is definitely worth a watch, especially if you are a fan of big Nicholas Cage!
Con air is one of those films that actually requires you not to think at all. Because if you do you&#39;ll just end up questioning its content; dialogue, plot, everything. <br/><br/>But hey, this is a movie, it&#39;s Hollywood man, it&#39;s not even trying to be original or feel real. It just want to give 100% action and it does deliver.<br/><br/>The story is simple and nothing talk about really. A lot of bad guys escape while being transfered from one prison to another with an airplane called &quot;Con Air&quot;. This is, of course, a perfect excuse for spectacular explosions, shootouts, men going to pieces, cars burning, stuff flying around with total disregard of gravity etc. etc.<br/><br/>A thing I enjoyed about it is that it has two of my favourite supporting actors in it: Steve Buscemi and Colm Meany, Buscemi is entertaining as a total psycho. But the acting don&#39;t get a big part here, and maybe it shouldn&#39;t. It&#39;s just one spectacular scene after another, which is fun if you&#39;re in the right mood for it. So as long as you don&#39;t mind plot holes, more clichées you can count and terrible dialogue, this is nearly perfect entertainment. See this but remember to unplug your brain before you do.<br/><br/>6/10
The saving grace of Con Air is its sense of its own absurdity.
During the fight, Billy-Joe pulls a switch-blade on Cameron. Cameron responds by striking Billy-Joe in the nose, causing him to die from blunt-force trauma to the head. When Billy-Joe&#39;s friends flee the scene, one of them grabs the switch-blade off the ground. Therefore making a self-defence case difficult to prove. As the only witness Cameron had was his wife Trisha and even she ran off to get Dale the bartender before Billy-Joe pulled the knife, therefore she didn&#39;t witness what happened.<br/><br/>During his trial, Cameron refused to plead guilty. However, his lawyer gives him poor advice, stating that he risked getting 10 years if the case went to trial and he lost. But by admitting to it, he&#39;d only get 4 years and serve maybe a year for good behaviour. For whatever reason, this wasn&#39;t a plea deal, but lawyer&#39;s advice. So when he plead guilty, the judge seemingly decided to make an example out of Cameron, believing that Cameron, being a former Army Ranger didn&#39;t think the normal rules of society applied to him and that he is trained to respond with deadly force, therefore making him a danger to society and therefore gave him a sentence of 7-10 years.
